Since I finished recording for the new single I've been writing songs. I've also done a few bits like designing the CD sleeve, having photos taken (more to do!) etc. It's a bit difficult for me to gig at the moment, but I'll be thinking about it.

I've recently written 3 songs but chucked 2 of them because they were rubbish. It's not a good feeling – you spend lots of time trying, but then I guess that's song writing for you. You don't always get a great result simply because you put lots of efforts in it. Anyway, instead of writing another song I decided to do more work on the good one as I thought it had a potential to be even better.

The song's about missing someone – not in a romantic context – and I wrote it from my heart. Well I needed some kind of outlet and thought may be writing about it would help. There is a guitar solo at the end but I worked really hard on it and added another guitar solo to make sure it sounded really effective. So now the song ends with 2 guitars crying 'I miss you!' I also changed part of the lyrics. I decided to be more frank – like no pretence, no pride. I've been playing it since then because it just matches my mood. In a sense I kind of regret writing it now - every time I listen to the song I miss the person even more! :)
