Myriad Luminescent
Myriad Luminescent (Platinum)
This is a re-working of my debut single 'Platinum' - you can read the details of the recording in my October diary. This song was picked for the title track as it got the best feedback - and we wouldn't have bothered releasing it if we didn't think it was good, but actually, I was quite surprised that it got airplayed anyway- I mean, it's 4:36 long! But surprisingly no one complained or even mentioned about it.
Careless (Shields My Eyes)
It nearly made it for the title track - I personally really like this song, it has a strong beat, poppy but poignant. By the way, there is a coded message in the lyrics - anyone gussed?
Snowflake Beach (Cosmic version)
Sunday, 21 August at 10:00pm in a studio in London - I was exhausted. I'd been working non-stop since the morning. I thought I booked a house engineer but 1 hour later turned up a cowboy...so everytying was taking like 3 times more than normal. I still managed to record and mix 2 tracks (one of them was Careless), which was a mad things to do by the industry standard anyway...and I still had to mix this one! I had the idea - or rather a vision - of two guitar sounds traveling across the night sky, like a shooting star or aurora, and wanted to realise it by panning and crossing the 2 guitar tracks. I'm quite happy with this mix - it's not a commercial track and is 4:26 long - but was a suprise hit with a few DJ who preferred this to the title track. You can read the background of the song in my November diary.
